History Class Makes Me Think

In my history class today, Mr.Hess was teaching my classmates and I about the horrific events of the Holocaust. Now I've learned about the Holocaust, and I knew it was terrible, but it didn't really hit me until today how shocking it was. We had to watch an informational movie clip about it. It basically was a silent film with photos of dead Jewish victims from concentration camps. Now I usually have a pretty strong stomach, but this I couldn't handle. Not only were the sites of the bodies revolting, but the fact that human beings, people like you and I, were responsible for the 6 million people who died. And how they treated the bodies, bulldozing them into holes and throwing them into chambers to burn. Really? That's immoral and wrong. I just thought I'd share my revoltsion for humans with you.

I'm sorry if this was depressing. I just had to tell someone about it.

Death

Depressing title, right? I was sitting in my room last night, like the winner I am, and I was thinking about life. I started to think "What if I died, right now?" and I came up with a plan on how I want things to go down:

Well, firstly, I want to die in my sleep. Isn't that how everyone wants to die? It's painless, it's quick, and it's peaceful. Once i am found, I want to be cremated. But instead of having my ashes in a creepy urn for the entire world to see, I want to be spread in one of two places that mean a lot to me: Memorial Lake, or the band field at school. Okay, I know what your thinking "Whoa, that's incredibly creepy. At school, really?" Yeah at school. I've had a lot of good times on that field in my short fourteen years and I would love to stay there. And Memorial Lake is so pretty :3.

Okay, moving on, I want my bank accounts drained with whatevesr in it (It's not much) I want my parents to keep part of it so they can finally fix up our retarded house, and I want the other half to go towards the art programs at school. Dude, there going down and there going down fast. And those programs are what are keeping me from hating schools, I want them to be preserved in my memory.

That was about as far as I got really. And yes, my wishes are strange and I highly doubt I'm going to be dying anytime soon. But anyone reading this, I want you to make sure these are carried out as such. Thank you, trusty reader.

Katelyn's Opinion: Osama

As you must have heard, faithful reader, Osama, major terrorist and evil mastermind behind the terrible 9/11 attack, has been shot down. I've been seeing a lot of "Whoohoo so glad he's dead let's throw a party and being happy oh yeah!" It's very unsettling that everyone is so excited about the death of another human being, even if he was majorly evil. I felt like I should share my views with you.

Okay, so like I said, I am very unsettled by everyones reaction to this. Look, I hate terrorism as much as the next person, but does this solve anything? No. I get it "justice, justice, showing him who's boss" but revenge isn't pretty. Revenge brings two things: Anger and more revenge. Do you know how many people this guy has behind him? It's a lot. There only going to get angry at us for shooting there gracious leader.

Now, I know we need less of these terrorists in the world, for obvious reason. It makes sense. Less terrorist=Less terroism towards us and others. And, in a way, it was good he was killed. It just upsets me that everyone treats this like no big deal and everyones pumped up about it. I'm just not going to be all estatic about it, like most seem to be. Like Martin Luther King Jr (Yeah, you know him right? He's kind of a big deal) said: "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy."

Anyhoo this has been the view of a 14 year old teenage girl who is great concerned with the way society views death these days, even one of our most hated enemy.

NPH

I have descovered the amazingness that is Neil Patrick Harris. Here's my story:
Because I have no life, I've been watching episodes of How I Met Your Mother. For those of you nubes who have never watched, it is probably the most amazing show ever. I'm not usually the sitcome kind of girl, but this one just makes me laugh. But, anyway, back to my story. So I was sitting watching my 100th episode in a row, and I wondered why ti was my favorite show. It was like most of the other sitcomes I watch (secretly): The nerdy-main character type (Ted), the perfect couple (Marshel and Lily) and the womenizer (Barney). Why was I so entranced? Then it hit me. Barney. He practically makes the entire show for me, from his witty phrases, to the shallowly hilarious way he picks up women is pure genius. Plus, well, he's not to bad on the eyes -giggles-. I then decided to google this Barney and find is true identity. It turns out his real name is Neil Patrick Harris. Completely intreged and pumped up, I continue searching. I find out that him and his HUSBAND (I love gay people btw) David had TWINS like a year ago, and there like the cutest babies ever. They were also on Backwards Broadway together. (:

(Yes this blog sucked, I'm aware. All I did was talk about the amazing NPH and his amazingcal amazing amazingness. But yeah, it was blog worthy.)

Breakups

You know what sucks? Breakups. As a younger teenager, I haven't had to many but through they few that I've had, they really bite the big one. Some are easy, yet there are ones that always leave a bad taste in your mouth. Bleh, it happends

It's Been Far To Long Darling

My dearest apologies for not talking in such a long time. From school, family, friends and other assorted activities I've been neglecting you.
To fill you in on my wearabouts so far, I've been:
  • In school, with homework, projects, and that little bugger Study Island. Plus my grades need to stay high. Not gonna get into a good college if I'm laying around now am I?
  • With Jazz Band, from practices on Monday, learning music, playing concerts, and constantly fighting with Matthew and Joshua, it's a full time job.
  • Family's been cracking down on me. Enough said
  • And other assorted things such as Volleyball, Friends and there "Let's go watch all these school sports that Katelyn dosen't like/care about," and my wonderful but very dependent boyfriend Bradly.
I'm not complaining, I love my life. I love being busy and having loads of things to do. But I, from this day forward, will do my upmost to blog at elast everyother day. If I don't I will fall down a well or get myself eaten by a hippo. Cross my heart.

Until next time my lovelies,
Katelyn~Keeper of Things.
