As you must have heard, faithful reader, Osama, major terrorist and evil mastermind behind the terrible 9/11 attack, has been shot down. I've been seeing a lot of "Whoohoo so glad he's dead let's throw a party and being happy oh yeah!" It's very unsettling that everyone is so excited about the death of another human being, even if he was majorly evil. I felt like I should share my views with you.
Okay, so like I said, I am very unsettled by everyones reaction to this. Look, I hate terrorism as much as the next person, but does this solve anything? No. I get it "justice, justice, showing him who's boss" but revenge isn't pretty. Revenge brings two things: Anger and more revenge. Do you know how many people this guy has behind him? It's a lot. There only going to get angry at us for shooting there gracious leader.
Now, I know we need less of these terrorists in the world, for obvious reason. It makes sense. Less terrorist=Less terroism towards us and others. And, in a way, it was good he was killed. It just upsets me that everyone treats this like no big deal and everyones pumped up about it. I'm just not going to be all estatic about it, like most seem to be. Like Martin Luther King Jr (Yeah, you know him right? He's kind of a big deal) said: "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy."
Anyhoo this has been the view of a 14 year old teenage girl who is great concerned with the way society views death these days, even one of our most hated enemy.
Until we meet again,
Katelyn~Keeper of all Things
